VRML Models

For the Visualization in Anthropology course, I had the students create 3D models of archaeological artifacts using the 3D laser scanner equipment operated by the NDSU Archaeology Technologies Lab. Please visit the student's websites to view their 3D models.

Below is a link to a 3D model created using our Minolta Vivid 700, Polyworks Modeler, and DeepPaint3D w/Texture Weapons. Model has been decimated so that it could be texture-mapped. Texure-mapping full detail models is difficult because of the large amount of RAM needed to handle the graphic, 3D model, and the texture-mapping environment.

You will need a VRML Plugin for your browser to view these models. Download VRML Plugin - PC

Decimated and Texture Mapped 3D VRML model of an actual broken Cerimonial Pipe - 500kb file size.

Full-geometry detail 3D VRML model of the same model without texture-mapping - 9mb file size.
